Sure, recovery means looking at where we were wrong. Inventory matters.
But the old-timers weren’t only digging up the bad stuff. They were asking something else, too: Where was I happy today? Where was I at peace? Where was I useful?
That part’s tucked right there in the Big Book, and hardly anybody sees it. It’s the stuff that gets you here:
“We have found much of heaven and we have been rocketed into a fourth dimension of existence of which we had not even dreamed.” Alcoholics Anonymous, p. 25
That’s a grateful mindset. That’s what we’re about to look at.
